Ilias Plaskovitis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economic and Regional Development, Panteion University – Athens. Bachelor in Economics, University of Sussex, UK, 1979, Masters in Urban and Regional Studies, University of Sussex, UK, 1980 and Ph.D. from the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Reading, UK, 1986. He is also Member of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank and Member of the Monetary Policy Council, Member of the General Council at the Bank of Greece. A large number of articles mainly on regional policy, economic development and EU economic policy have been published in scientific journals, collective readings, conferences etc. Also several consulting studies on behalf of Greek and foreign authorities have been conducted in the above fields.
